(Note: this is a serious post, so feel free to close the window if you are not interested (I will never know and will not be offended.)
A month ago, I was in Seattle for Mitzi's wedding (reference two posts ago). My flight left about the same time as Megan, Camas, and Darren's flights - early. All of our flights left around 7:30 - meaning we had to have a cab come and pick us up at 5:45 to take us to the airport. As we chatted with the cab driver, he started telling us about his life. I don't remember too much except that he was originally from Africa, had moved to Seattle something like 10 years earlier, had been a cab driver since coming to Seattle and was working to achieve "the American dream" of owning his own house. We started talking about being a cab driver - he always worked early morning shifts and he talked about how there were always crazy people that he had to drive around in those weird hours when most people were sleeping. Anyways, long story short, for some reason he mentioned that his shift was almost over and that he was excited to get to go crawl back in bed. We asked how long his shift was and he said 12 hours. I quickly
