The Cedar Chest

So, if you recall from my previous post entitled Jill of all Trades, I took a woodworking class. I decided to make a cedar chest - only out of walnut. The bottom and back are actually made of cedar - to give it that good smell. There is a red oak inlay on the top and decorative red okay framing on the sides and front.

Here are some pics of the masterpiece. Can you believe that I actually designed and made this?!??! What?!?!!??

Open (you can see the cedar wood inside) -

From the Side again (without the flash so you can see a little better the natural wood colors)-

All I can say is I'm quite impressed!! I didn't even know you had a blog so I was quite happy when I got to read all about everything you have been doing lately. That is a beautiful box and I love the pictures that you posted from you photography class. If you're ever up here and in need of something to do, give me a call. I would love to see you.
